Healthy eating habits in childhood prevents them from unwanted health problems including obesity, iron deficiency, anaemia, dental caries and eating disorders. As we often hear “Prevention is better then cure” By eating the right balanced diet one can prevent the long term health problems like cancer, coronary heart diseases and stroke. Consuming food which has high content of sugar and salt, saturated fats and low intake of vegetables, fruits and cereal foods creates you many health problems like overweight/obesity and many other health issues. - Well diet pupils are more regular and punctual since they hardly fall sick when compare to low intake of healthy foods.
- Well fed pupils are more stronger and active while under nutrition pupils are weak and low energy that limit their physical activity.
- Promoting food activities such as growing and tasting, cooking etc. are one good way of getting engage to those pupils who are reluctant to involve in school activities.
Healthy eating habits can promote in different ways, it can be either giving knowledge about the healthy eating habits or by setting up a proper food school canteen by with maximum nutritional standards.
