What is Hyperthyroidism?
It is a condition which over activates the thyroid gland. This results in production of more than required amount of thyroid hormones in the body. Due to this, the body’s metabolism increases. Other effects are anxiety and weight loss.
Diet:
To prevent your body from diseases, follow a diet that is rich in nutrients. But this is not in case of hyperthyroidism. In the case of hyperthyroid condition, there is not diet affecting it.
If you are already diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, there is nothing that can be done nutritionally. But restrict the use of iodine in your food. In rare cases, iodine is also said to be the cause for the occurrence of the condition. Also, there are chances of reduction of hyperthyroidism if there no or less intake of iodine.
You also might have to avoid the following products:
- Iodized or sea salt.
- Seafood.
- Eggs.
- Milk Products.
- Soy Products.
Doctor Consultation:
There is an urgent need for consulting the doctor if you have regular chest pains or fast heartbeats. Regular check-ups are also recommended.
