Why Healthy Balanced Diet?

A balanced diet is very important in today’s daily lifestyle. According to United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), only those people who can maintain a proper diet can avoid diseases. It is quite important to follow balanced diet. Your body’s full capabilities are not put to use unless and until you don’t eat balanced diet. Eating an unhealthy diet increases the risk of harmful diseases like heart problems, gastrointestinal issues, etc. These can prove fatal (causing death).

What is a healthy balanced diet:

A diet that contains healthy nutrients like iron, proteins, vitamins, fats and minerals is called a balanced diet. It is required by a human being for the maintenance of his health and proper growth in course of his life. It prevents the person from many life risking diseases. It protects our heart, liver, intestines, stomach, etc and keeps the body free of diseases.

A detailed balanced diet list has been given below.

Vegetables

To start with, an aim of 2-2.5 cups of vegetables seems positive. Eat different kinds of vegetable in the meal. Many people don’t like eating vegetables. They can instead go for 100% vegetable juices and move towards their goal.

Fruits

Every day, at least 2 cups of fruits should be taken. Many people, who don’t like food, can also drink juices rich in different vegetables.

Grains

According to the USDA, 6 oz of grains should be consumed every day. In that, at least 3 oz of grains should come from whole grain products. For example: pasta, brown breads and oatmeal.

Milk

Milk contains calcium and is an essential part of the balanced diet. 3 glasses of milk should be consumed daily. Dairy products such as cheese and yogurt also count.

Meat and Beans

This group includes fish and seeds. It’s a good practice to a combination of these throughout the week. 5.5 oz is said to be optimum amount.

Oil

Oil plays a very important role in the human food pyramid. It allows us to unsaturated fat. The USDA advises 6 tsp of oil daily. Almonds and avocados also count in as oils.
