Tuna fish diet is the fad diet which claims to help you lose 3 pounds in 3 days. However, this diet is high in fat, sodium and cholesterol. It may help you to achieve only temporary weight loss. Moreover, the weight loss due to tuna fish diet is mostly due to loss of water and not due to burning of fat.
What is the Tuna Fish Diet?
The tuna fish diet is for a period of 3 days. You are supposed to eat half-a-cup of tuna each day. Drinking tea and water are recommended. On the second day, you can eat half cup of ice cream and hot dog. On the third day, you can eat full cup of ice cream. Crackers, toast, carrots, cabbage can be eaten on a daily basis.
The Dangers of Tuna Fish Diet:
The tuna diet allows you to eat junk food such as ice cream, hot dogs, and crackers, which may in turn increase the cholesterol and fat. Moreover, only half cup of tuna is to be eaten on a daily basis. There are also many variations of the tuna diet, which can be misleading.
Tuna diet advocates unhealthy form of eating and it is not recommended by nutritionists. Though you may lose weight, it would be temporary. This diet is low in nutritional value and high in empty calories. So, it is recommended not to follow the tuna fish diet as it can work against your weight loss efforts.
