- It is a mental disorder common in children around 7 years.

What is Feingold Diet?
- This diet was developed by Dr. Ben F. Feingold, an instructor of pediatrics at the Northwestern University School of Medicine, America, in 1970.
- This diet is based on the believe that children suffer from Hypertension because of additives in their food.
- Controlling hypertension in children thus involves reduction of additives from the child’s diet.
- There are two stages of this diet. The first stage eliminates all of the food items which are offending to the body.
- In the second stage, these food items are reintroduced one at a time to find their relative tolerance by the body.
- The chemicals and additives completely eliminated during this diet are synthetic coloring, artificial flavoring, aspartame and Artificial preservatives.
- Apart from preventing Hypertension, it is also effective in dealing with depression, abusive or unpredictable behavior, speech difficulties, workaholic habits, impatience, difficulty in comprehension, ear problems, asthma, bed wetting, constipation and sleeping disorders in children.
