Bob Greene is a personal trainer in physical education and exercise physiology.His diet plan has two types.This article tries to understand The Get with the Program diet plan which the first type of Bob Greene Diet.
About Bob Greene Diet – Type 1:
- This plan is divided in to four phases.
- It stresses on the gradual improvement in the eating and the exercise habits of the dieter.
- The diet involves three meals and two snacks a day,regular exercise,drinking lots of water.
- Two hours before bed time,food consumption is stopped.
- The dieter can take his own time to get used to the stages of the program.
Phase One of Get with the Program Diet:
- This stage marks the mental preparation for the diet program.
- The dieter is encouraged to take a resolution to work for his better health.
- It lasts for one to three weeks.
- Simple exercises like stretching and range-of-motion exercises are part of this stage.
Phase Two of Get with the Program Diet:
- The fitness of the dieter is enhanced in this stage by exercises.
- Exercises burn the calories during and even after the exercises also.
- The dieter’s commitment of healthy eating and living are strengthened by the rapid physical changes in him.
- It lasts for one to three months.
Phase Three of Get with the Program Diet:
- This is the most important stage of this diet plan.
- The dieter tries to learn the difference between eating during genuine hunger and emotional eating.
- The dieter deliberately delays a meal of the day to experience real physical hunger.
- After that he keeps track of events or moments in his life,when he feels like giving up to intake of unhealthy food items.
- Such moments are replaced by beneficial activities like reading,walking etc.
- Exercise is done for 2 hours per day.
- This phase lasts for one to three months.
Phase Four of Get with the Program Diet:
- By this stage the food habits and fitness levels of the dieter is set right.
- The dieter now can practice weight lifting too as part of his exercise.
- The present life style can be adopted for the life time.
