Do to you have an oily skin? Then you must be aware of the strenuous care you need to take. Basically increased activity of sebaceous glands and the hormonal imbalance results in oily skin. There could be many other possible causes for oily skin; some of them are listed below:

Some of the common problems faced by people with oily skin are listed below:

As mentioned above even diet can lead to excess oil secretion, hence by making few dietary changes the excess oil secretion can be controlled. Some of the effective dietary changes recommended for oily skin people are listed below:
- Make sure that you consume protein rich diet.
- Avoid excess intake of sugar, salt and fluids.
- Consume plenty of fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables.
- Deficiency of Vitamin B2 can cause oily skin hence make sure that you consume Vitamin B rich food.
- Make sure that you include wheat germ, nutritional yeast, organ meat, whole grains, honey/royal jelly, nuts and beans in your daily diet as these foods are rich source of Vitamin B2 and B5.
- To rejuvenate your dull and pale skin, include black beans, buckwheat and whole rice in your oily skin diet. These foods not only rejuvenate your pale skin but are excellent source of iron.
- Avoid fried and highly seasoned foods. Avoid consuming heat-processed vegetable oil and animal fat.
- Avoid junk food, sugary foods and chocolates.
- It is better to use less amount of oil for cooking. It is advisable to use cold presses oils like that of canola or olive oil.
- Make sure that you drink plenty of water in a day. At least you need to drink 8 glasses or 2 litres of water everyday. Water is an excellent way to flush out skin toxins as well as it keeps your skin hydrated and supple.
- Avoid taking carbonated and alcoholic beverages.
Above were some of the dietary changes for people with oily skin. To make your skin oil and pimple free you need to take a healthy and well balanced diet. Besides diet for oily skin you also need to maintain personal hygiene. Remember before making any drastic dietary changes you need to consult your physician, dietician or dermatologist.
