According to several research studies, colorful foods are better for your health than the normal foods. Colorful vegetables and fruits like oranges, carrots and tomatoes have different phyto chemicals and antioxidants. They are naturally occurring plant and composites such substances that effectively help in preventing diseases.

Although, there is not a single substance for which the food can ward off illness. Till now, it is unknown that, which of the phyto chemicals and antioxidants are actually protective. So this is the reason for what it is suggested that people should eat at least five types of vegetables and fruits everyday.

According to “The American Dietetic Association”, people should eat vegetables like spinach; broccoli and romaine. These guard your eyesight and boost your immunity.
Red strawberries, tomatoes, cherries and apples are helpful in improving the functionalities of your brain and heart.

Oranges, grapes, canteloupe, carrots and squash also help in improving and strengthening your immune system.
Blueberries, purple grapes, blackberries, eggplant and plums are very effective in diminishing the scopes of cancers and keeping your memory sharp.

To balance the color properties in your food, you need to know that how different colorful foods work differently. Basically each color has a different effect mentally and physically. If you are able to know the characteristics colors, then it can help you in planning your meals accordingly.

For example, taking something red in your meal everyday can be helpful for your digestive system. A salad including apple or tomato can serve you better.

Besides, green colored food can restock vitality and the natural health. So, for that you can include beans, spinach and peas in your everyday meal.

If you are into a weight loss program, you need to drink plenty of yellow fruit juices (eg- pineapple and sweet limes). This color yellow increases your physical activity and energy. It also helps in burning the extra calories.
